Guffanti, Alberto - Understanding theoretical uncertainties for precision phenomenology at the LHC Run-II
Seminarvortrag im Rahmen des GRK 2044 am Mittwoch, 29.04.2015
Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) are a crucial ingredient in theoretical predictions for precision phenomenology at the LHC. In this talk I will introduce the basic elements underlying the contruction of modern PDF sets and their associated uncertainties. I will present the current state of the art of avilable PDF sets and which improvements could be expected in the future, both from including more experimental information from the LHC experiments and refinig the treatment of theoretical predictions using in the fit and their uncertainties.
