Lasha Berezhiani - Dark matter superfluidity and galactic dynamics

Abstract:
After a brief overview of some of the empirical correlations between dark and baryonic sectors within galaxies, I will discuss a theory of dark matter superfluidity as a potentially interesting phenomenon in this context. The idea is to have an emergent long-range interaction between baryons mediated by superfluid phonons. I will conclude by discussing the challenges needed to be overcome for a successful realization of this paradigm.
