Rikkert Frederix - FxFx merging
RTG Seminar on July 19th, 2017
Abstract: In this lecture, I’ll discuss the FxFx merging scheme that allows for precise and accurate predictions for hard processes at particle colliders, such as the Large Hadron Collider. In particular, it uses next-to-leading order matrix elements, of various multiplicities, and consistently merges them with the parton shower. I’ll explain the physics behind the method and use Higgs boson production in gluon fusion as a typical example.
