Jörg Jäckel - Dark Matter Axions and ALPs in the Lab, in Theory and in the Sky

Abstract:
In this talk we will take a look at axions and ALPs that constitute the dark matter. We discuss their detection (and possible further exploitation) in the lab. Taking a more theoretical angle we embed the QCD axion into a string inspired model and discuss the cosmology, including the issue of the overproduction of dark radiation (for which we present a suitable way out). From this we then return to testable consequences.
